This is Chapter 1, titled Prayanigal (The travellers) Kalki introduces two main characters in the novel here, Paranjothi and Buddha Bikshu (Naganadhi adigal). Pranjothi is coming to Kanchi with the Budha Bikshu. Kalki describes the scene on the way to Kanchi, which is mesmerizing.
